Buckthorn is a tall, deciduous shrub native to Europe, western Asia, and the Middle East. This buckthorn bark has been properly dried and aged for 1 year and is traditionally prepared as an extract or bitter tea for its laxative properties. Historically used to dye textiles yellow. 

**Do not use this product if you have abdominal pain or watery stools. Not for long term use.
